Single neuron modelling symposium

The hands-on workshop aims at bringing together several researchers from the field of Artificial intelligence and neuroscience to discuss the advances in modeling of single neurons. Single neurons are used in both fields for different purposes. In artificial intelligence, they are seen as building blocks that engineers can use to solve particular problems such as classification and time-series predictions. While in neuroscience, single neurons are used to gain understanding of the functioning of the brain. However, many of the tools used in both fields are highly similar. Maybe it is time to bridge the gap between both fields and to start cooperating. This workshop tries to contribute in starting a discussion between researchers of both fields. After the presentations, there will be ample time for discussion
